Paetow Head Football Coach Resigns Amid Allegations

Imagine getting the call to coach at a promising new program that just came off winning the Texas State Championship in 2021.  It’s an opportunity many coaches wait patiently for.  Week after week they challenge their players to put the team over themselves as they band together as brothers hoping to be the last team standing in December, shouting Champions!  Now imagine that dream turning into a nightmare for the same new school/program’s head coach to whom the opportunity was presented.  Fast forward to October 11th 2022 and Paetow head football coach is asked to resign amid an investigation alleging inappropriate conduct.

Katy ISD released the following statement regarding the matter.

“The Katy ISD Police has investigated an allegation concerning a former head football coach. The individual resigned during the inquiry and the case has since been referred to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

“The safety of Katy ISD students and staff is the District’s top priority. Whenever the District is made aware of an allegation, the accused is immediately removed from their District assignment(s), while District personnel work swiftly with law enforcement and other agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.”

After hearing about the allegations some jumped to conclusions while others ran to Twitter only to find the coach’s Twitter account to have no longer been assessable.  He has also been removed from the school’s directory.  The former Defensive line coach is now listed as the interim head coach.

After winning the 5A Division I state championship last December, Paetow was welcomed to Class 6A.  With an overall record of 3-3 on the season, Paetow quickly saw that 6A football is very different from 5A as they seemed to struggle in some aspects on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
