Two great private schools hit the gridiron Friday night in what was marked the game of the week. Episcopal took on St. Pius and held them to one score in the first quarter. It looked like it would be a good game until St. Pius put it in 2nd gear in the 2nd quarter. Grant Gunnell would take to the air and St. Pius would put up 21 points in the 2nd quarter. The wet field was no match for Grant Gunnell as he would end the night with 444 passing yards going 22/37 with 2 touchdowns. The Arizona commit is ranked seventh all-time in the UIL record books only needing 32 more touchdown passes to pass the record set by Refugio’s Travis Quintanilla in 2013 with 184 touchdown passes. Episcopal fought hard but came up short. St. Pius would go on to win 42 – 0.
